The Limner Company was established in 2023 by leading consultant Emma Rutherford, who has specialised in portrait miniatures for 25 years. She has worked with museums, art dealers and in the auction world, her research and discoveries published in academic publications as well as the national media.
Based in London, The Limner Company’s expertise includes conservation, framing, research and curation, while also holding a carefully curated selection of portrait miniatures for sale. Clients include the National Portrait Gallery, National Trust, Royal Collection Trust and Victoria & Albert Museum.
